Please join us for this year’s festival of works-in-progress of new projects by members of The Civilians’ 2022-2023 R&D Group.



The Civilians’ R&D Group is comprised of writers, composers, directors, and other generative artists who meet throughout a season to develop original pieces of theater through the creative investigation of a pre-selected topic of their choosing. The creative processes may include interviews, community engagement, research, and other experimental methods of inquiry.

Led by R&D Program Director Phoebe Corde, the Group shares and discusses their methodologies and the resulting work. The process culminates in the FINDINGS Series, a festival of works-in-progress showings. 

This season marks 11 years for The Civilians’ R&D Group.



We invite you to join us as we get back to our first in-person FINDINGS Series in two years! 

The projects in this year's Series will include six full-length plays, featuring African princes in pursuit of the throne, Jewish pirate shanties, two siblings’ journey into space, and a host of narrators finding the edges of their stories, presented on individual Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays between June 20th - 30th.
