7:00 PM   Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres
8:30 PM   An original performance by Civilians Associate Artists
and special guest performers

Featuring songs by founding Associate Artist Michael Friedman

Please join us at THE HIGHLINE BALLROOM to celebrate our 2011-12 season. We will be presenting the first annual Civilian of the Year Award to Robert Hammond, a co-founder of The High Line: an ingeniously-planned haven for nature in New York City. Our Associate Artists will salute Robert's commitment to healthy urban development with a new investigative theater piece with all the incisive gusto of The Civilians' signature style. The performance will also include your favorite Civilians songs, plus highlights from our new projects!

For the short piece that we're creating for this special evening, we want to hear from you! Answers to the following question will be incorporated into this brand new piece of investigative theater. Where would you put a park in New York City and why? Your response can be a word, a diagram, a photo, a dance move - whatever inspires you! Please mail in your responses, post them on our BLOG, or email them to
